Inside Women for Women International, Part 2

I spent 2 weeks this month working in the offices of Women for Women International (see Part 1), and it was a challenging and inspiring experience. The best part about the assignment was seeing the evidence for myself that helping women really does help the world. A huge percentage of the women reported that they used their funds for their children’s tuition. Others spent it on medical treatment, upgrading their homes, or investing in a business. Still others reported improving relationships with their spouses, organizing community activities, and mentoring other women. In short, a wide range of positive outcomes – for entire communities – resulted from WfWI’s women-centric programs.

Women are statistically far more likely than men to use money for education and health care for their families in the developing world. I love WfWI’s work and message, and am envious that you’ve been able to see it in action!
