16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence

“Thursday November 25th, 2010 marks the beginning of a worldwide campaign that came to be its own tradition exactly 20 years ago: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
Starting with International Day Against Violence Against Women (November 25th) going straight through to International Human Rights Day (December 10th), the campaign’s message is clear, violence against women is not a just a women’s rights issue, it is a human rights issue…
As designated by the founding organization, the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, the theme for this year’s 16 Days of Activism is Structures of Violence: Defining the Intersections of Militarism and Violence Against Women.”
